Holiday Homes and Rental Properties: Our Specialty
The Sunshine Coast has a security problem most regions do not: a large share of the housing stock sits empty for weeks at a time, then fills with people who have never been there before. Standard residential security is designed around a family who is home most nights. It is the wrong shape for a property that turns over every four days.
What actually works is different. Entry that resets between bookings, so you are not rekeying or handing out spare keys that never come back. Monitored alarms on a dual path, because an unmonitored siren in an empty street at 2am achieves nothing and a dropped NBN connection should not silently disarm your only line of defence. Cameras covering entries and the external perimeter only, never interior living spaces, which is both a legal issue and a guest trust issue. And a system an owner can check from anywhere, because most of these owners do not live on the coast.

How much does a security system cost on the Sunshine Coast?
Residential systems typically start around $1,500 installed. Holiday rentals, resorts and commercial sites are quoted after a site assessment, since camera count and cable access change the number considerably.
Can I put cameras inside a property I rent out short term?
Cameras in interior living areas of a short-term rental are a serious problem, both legally and for guest trust. We specify external and entry coverage only, and recommend owners disclose the presence of cameras in their listing.
Will the cameras survive being near the beach?
With the right housings, stainless fixings and properly sealed cable entries, yes. With standard hardware, often not past the third summer.
Can I check my property while I am away?
Yes. Remote camera access and app notifications are standard, and back-to-base monitoring adds an actual response rather than just an alert.
Do you install during construction on new builds?
Yes, and it is the cheapest time to do it. Running cable before the plasterboard goes on avoids retrofit costs entirely.
